Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan

just wondering

I was asked to resign or be terminated for a pending owi charge. I resigned. The owi charge was dropped. I plead gulty to careless driving. I asked for my job back. My boss said he wants me back however i cannot comeback because human resources says what if this happens again. So because of this, i cannot get my job back. I know i gave up my rights when i resigned and they can probably give me any line to not take me back. But a what if? What if can affect anyone in life.

You are most likely an "at-will" employee. this means the company can fire you for any reason at all, as long as they do not violate a civil rights law. Therefore, there is nothing you can do. William S. Stern
