Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Michigan

Forgery

Is it lawful for a lawyer to sign my name to a check that was issued in both our name?

Also is it legal for a lawyer expericienced with disability to charge me knowing that Social Security withheld his funds?

After a year the lawyer still refuses to return my money, what can be done?

Is it possible for me to take him to court for these issues?

Re: Forgery

In Social Security Disability cases, the lawyers fee is limited by law and must be approved by the Social Security Administration. However, if it was not a Social Security Disability case but a Supplemental Security Income case, while the fee must be approved, it is paid by the client directly. It is legal to sign a client's name to a check if the client said it was okay. It is called a ratified signature. William S. Stern 248-353-9400
