Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Michigan

Legal Malpractice or Dereliction of Duty?

I retained an attorney last year to represent me for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. The attorney made 36 mathematical errors and failed to meet a deadline imposed by the United States Trustee. Ultimately my case was dismissed. I called the attorney for several weeks thereafter. She did not return any of my calls. I hired a new attorney. The new attorney received a favorable outcome, a Discharge of Debts. Do I have a cause of action against the 1st attorney?

Yes, but you'll have to hire a malpractice lawyer to get it through the system.
