Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Michigan

Police officer possible malpractice

I was given a ticket for a minor in possession of alcohol and the police officer told me that if I did not give her the address and phone number of my parents (even though I am 18 years old) she would arrest me. She also told me that she would arrest me if I did not take a PBT test. She then wrote the wrong date and time on the ticket (the incident happened before midnight...and she wrote the date for the following day and the time was off by almost two hours). She also accused me of lieing to her when I was completely willing to truthfully answer her questions. Are her actions legal?

Re: Police officer possible malpractice

The first thing is that you will most likely be found guilty of minor in possession. If it is your first offense, chances are the judge willhave you plead guilty and then if you don't get in trouble within 6 months or a year, the record will disappear. The other stuff is not relevant to a minor in possession. No one is charging you with being drunk. The cop was just hasseling you, which is normal unfortunately. In my opinion, the primary reason that people become police officers is for the power trip.
