Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Michigan
I had surgery to have a uterine fibriod removed after the doctor believed it to have caused a prior miscarriage. After surgery, I had a build up of scar tissue, and can not only get have a child, but no longer have periods. The surgery made the problem worse. In addition, I learned that I very low Vit. D, (as I am a weight loss surgery patient this a common problem) Vit D is associated with healing tissue after a surgery and miscarriages. Could it have been possible that I didn't need this surgery, simply a vit. D supplement? And shouldn't the doctor had know that my Vit. D was too low to properly heal after such a surgery?

Is it possible that you didn't need the surgery? Yes, it's possible, did you get a second opinion before you consented to have this done?
Should the doctor know that your Vitamin D was low? Did you tell the doctor that you had weight loss surgery? Did the doctor who performed your weight loss surgery tell you about the possible complications and side effects of this sort of operation? Did you do any independent research as to the long term effects of weight loss surgery? What problem did removing the fibroid tumor cause or make worse?
Perhaps you need to consult with another doctor who can evaluate your entire medical history, which sounds extensive. If a reputable doctor can and will testify that your most recent surgery was not necessary and/or not performed properly, then you need to consult with a medical malpractice attorney, not a legal malpractice attorney.
