Once filed, the lawyer has committed himself or herself to spend another $10,000.00 to over $30,000.00 in paying experts for depositions, court reporters for transcripts, filing fees, case evaluation fees, etc. That does not take into account the fact that the lawyer will have to spend an incredible number of hours preparing and fighting the case. There is always a significant risk of losing virtually any malpractice case after investing this incredible amount of time and money in the case. Any good lawyer is therefore very careful to make sure that the investment of time and money are worth the risk. Otherwise, the lawyer won't be around for the next battle. Your solution is to take the doctor's conduct up with the appropriate licensing people. While this won't result in any compensation to you for what you have experienced, it is your only solution.
