Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Michigan

missed in blood test

My mother was in a hospital in detroit in february for pnuemonia.She went in with complaints of her arm and her side hurting and they said it was pnuemonia (they only did a chest x-ray)and she kept telling them about her arm hurting and nothing was done on the first day in the hospital she had blood tests every 2hrs.In June she moved to Texas and I took her to the emergency room for her arm they did an x-ray and blood test and we found out she has a blood cancer the next day now she needs a rod put in her arm because the arm is going to snap any minute.Turns out the pnuemonia is a side effect of the blood cancer.If she would have got treatment sooner the bone would not have deterioted so much.She wants to sue the hospital in Detroit,do you think she has grounds?
