Legal Question in Military Law in Michigan
is this allowed?
Hi my girlfriend came to the US legally with a visa years ago and I'm planning on marrying her, but I heard that marrying while being in the army is not allowed. Is this true??

There are no bans on marriage in the Army. However, if your girlfriend is a foreign national and you hold a security clearance, there could be repercussions for your clearance.
Although I would question the constitutionality, I suppose your superiors could give you a lawful order to stop seeing someone, and that might be enforced against you. My guess would be that such an order would have to be grounded in some specific objection that command had with your girlfriend (drug history, record of convictions, known associates, etc.)
Discuss the matter openly with your commander or first sergeant and get the honest answers from command. If necessary, contact a local JAG office and get advice from them.
