Legal Question in Military Law in Michigan

AWOL and Pregnant

I went AWOL in 2005, and I am pregnant with my second child. Upon going AWOL, I was under a lot of mental anguish, and pregnant with my first child. What should I do? I need to resolve this ASAP

Re: AWOL and Pregnant

You must resolve this issue. You have children who need you, and AWOL is no longer AWOL: it's considered desertion. That's a serious problem, and one you must deal with immediatley.

Find a civilian lawyer with military experience and have him arrange your surrender. You'll wind up under military control for at least two to three months before you're case will be disposed. You may face jail time. This is why you need to go through an attorney to get this done. You MUST go back voluntarily. A traffic stop could put you in jail at this point, so you need to get this fixed right away.

Good luck,
