discharge without return

I went awol because my husband is suffering from severe depression I cant return because there is no one else to care for our two children can I be discharged from home?

You probably will have to return to military control to get this straightened out, but depending on the circumstances (i.e. which branch you are in, were still in Basic or AIT, etc.) you may not have to be gone very long.

1. The Services rarely grant a discharge "in-absentia."

2. Before you left, did you do anything to get a humanitarian transfer or discharge?
