Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan
my 6 yr old was hit in the head by a falling bowling ball....he was sitting on the floor playing with the combination lock of the bottom locker when the door opened from the locker 3 above him and 3 bowling balls came rolling out.....the first one (15 lbs) hit him on the head (not straight on top but towards the side) and knocked him over...the other two balls came rolling out but missed him due to being knocked to the side by the first ball....he was screaming.....we rushed him into the emergency room and he did not have any brain injury...the doctor performed physical task exam and did not advise a CT. He does complain now and then about his neck hurting him. Friends say to contact a Lawyer and sue the bowling alley....it was very upsetting...it could have killed him if the ball hit him on top on his head instead of more to the side.....I went into the bowling alley the next day and spoke with the bar manager (bowling alley mgr was out) ...she gave me back $75 of the $100 we spent on bowling and food the night before and told me they dont control what people put in their lockers....the balls that were in the locker were the bowling alleys balls...not someones personal bowling balls ....that answer only angered me.....It seems the bowling alley should be responsible for this.....what do you advise?

I agree that they should be held responsible. Those lockers are theirs and they have a duty to make the place safe. The key to a potential case is the injury. Complaints of neck pain could be spinal in nature, and the hit to the head is also a concern. I would love the opportunity to speak to you about this matter in great detail.
