Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Dog Attack

My dog was in my back yard which has a 5 foot chain link fence around it and a neighbor's dog got loose and clawed the cememnt and ruined the chain link fence. Got into my yard and attacked my dog. The dog doing the attacking had a bloody ear and bloody nose and hurt it's self mostly getting into the yard, my dog is okay just sore. I called the police and they said I could pick-up the police report in two day and that a dog warrent officer would follow up. The neighbor said that there dog is up to date on all shots and so is mine. They have offered to pay for the fence and vet bills and also said they were going to put this dog down because the day before it attacked another dog. It's a pit bull mix about 90lbs but they have not done anything with the dog. They have not taken it to the vet for it's injuries or put it to sleep. My question is what should I do next? I feel this is a dangerous dog and should be put down.

Re: Dog Attack

Go see the city attorney and have him swear out a warrant for harboring a dangerous animal.
