Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Hit and run

i was walking out of a Target store this afternoon when this women struck me with her car and then drove off. she then turned herself in later and told the police that i damaged the car with my fist. i went to the police station to have pictures taken of my hands to show there was no swelling or damage to my hands. the police officer then told me that the womens story didn't add up and pretty much said she was lying. i am not sure if i should contact a lawyer and pursue action or not. please help

What you failed to mention, is the extent of your injuries, if any. Under Michigan law, unless you had a serious injury that impaired an important body function that changed the trajectory of your life, you do not have grounds to bring a claim, even if the driver was totally negligent and drunk. If you find this incredible, blame the Michigan Supreme Court that issues decision after decision upholding the interests of insurance companies against the interests of the citizens of the state.
