Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Home Depot burned my house in Michigan, and refuses to pay me or contact me.

I need to find an attorney who will handle a claim that happened Michigan, but I live in Colorado. Home depot was contracted and paid to install carpet in my house, and caught my house on fire. They have not been contact with me,have not paid for or attempted to pay for or fix damages, and they never refunded my money, or even installed my carpet. I have post traumatic stress related problems from this, and my doctor has placed me on anti-depressants, I lost money on the house in repairs, etc. I need an attorney who will handle the claim, either over the phone, or by fax. This has been over a year, and things are not changing.

Sincerely,

Distressed & in the hole!

To Whom It May Concern:

This is in response to your email of September 20, 2001, which this office received on November 5, 2001.

While we may be able to handle this type of matter it would require extensive discovery work to establish that your house fire was in fact caused by improper carpet installation. Additionally, damages would have to be assessed on which to base a claim.

Our rate is $185.00 per hour and for this type of matter an up front retainer of $15,000.

Furthermore, if this occurred in Michigan, most likely you would be travelling to the state of Michigan for various court hearings and possibly depositions.

Thank you for your question.

Very truly yours,

Nichols & Eberth, P.C.
