Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Job related injury

My question has to do with an injury I got while I was working.I've been working for the railroad for 15yrs. In Oct,2000 I started having trouble with my neck & right arm.After I was taken out of service I found out that I would need surgery to fix the problem.Some of the doctors I saw told me it was work related. the doctor that did the surgery said that it was aggravated from the work that I do.This injury keep me off work for 9 months.I feel that I should be compensated for lost time & pain & suffering.Do you think I would have a case agaist the railroad & if so what do you think my chances are of winning this case? In Michigan, if your doctor is correct, your case has arisen out of has been aggravated as a result of your employment. Your injuries may be what is known as an Repetive Strain Injury (RSI). RSI's are very common amoung railroad workers who use certain types of tools, such as grinders, saws, etc. You may have both a workers compensation case and, maybe more importantly, a case against the tool manufacturers.

I have worked on several cases defending RSI's but never as Plaintiff. Quite frankly, my firm is too small to handle such a case, but I know of several good law firms which have worked on dozens if not hundreds of such railroad injury cases and I think I could put you in touch with them.
