Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Can a person get in trouble for reporting an accident to OSHA that could have been prevented in the first place if the company hadn't removed them? A fellow employee lost part of two fingers on a machine that was simply triggered by slightly placing themselves too close to the palm buttons! After the incident guards were put back on!
