Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Personal Protection Order

Two of my friends received PPO's against them and everything in the PPO is a lie. Also the girl issuing the PPO had her mother and a guy friend serve/deliver the PPO to my two friends. Does a police man/woman or someone from the court have to actually serve them the papers? Also is there anyway to fight the PPO since everything is a lie? And the only reason for the PPO is to save her job because she works at a hospital and told others confidential information which was very hurtful to someone else and one of her friends found out and the friend (not either of the ones who got issued the PPO) called her place of work and reported it. Now the girl is putting out PPO's on two girls that didn't even call her place of work to try to save her job by stating in the PPO that the girls harrass her at work and call and make up lies to try to get her fired. Is there anything the two innocent girls can do? And are the PPO's real if her friends/family were the ones who delivered the PPO's?

Re: Personal Protection Order

It is certainly possible to contest the PPOs in court. I recommend that an attorney be involved.

yes, PPO's can be served by family members. As to fighting them, absolutely they have a right to move the court to set them aside. I have handled these hundreds of times. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss options. Tim Klisz
