Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

adding spouses name to home deed

We were recently married and I moved into my husband's home. We would like to add my name to the deed or title. How can we accomplish this? Is there an online form for this?

Re: adding spouses name to home deed

Your husband should execute a Quit Claim Deed with himself as the grantor and with both of you, e.g. John Doe and Jane Doe, Husband and Wife, joint with rights of survivorship. I am uncertain if you can find an online form for this. I would be happy to assist you in preparing the deed for a small fee. You must create a quit claim deed. There is no specific form for this. If you wish it to be drafted properly, you will want to consult with an experienced attorney.
