Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
Additions to real property
A family member was allowd to place a mobile Home on my property in 1995. A well and septic field was paid for by the person as well as the normal electrical and plumbing hookups. The well and septic cost 8,500 total. that person lived on my land free of charge and used the above items from 1995 thru 1998. In 98 a verbal agreement was entered into by myself and the other person that the mobile home be placed on a permenant basement, a garage and other appurtenances were added, I paid the cost of all of this 70.000 total.
The original electrical and plumbing were removed and replaced by me.
In addition I paid the insurance on the mobile home, the land taxes the utilities and bought groceries for this person from 1998 thru 2003.
In 2003it became necessary to evict the home from the property due to interference by another family member.
I offered to buy the home or replace the home.
The offers were rejected.
The mobile was moved to another location by the owner.
I am now being sued by this person to recoup her initial investment in the well, septic, Electrical and plumbing hookups as well as the cost of moving the home.
The only items that remain on the property are the well and septic.
