Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I bought a one acre lot adjacent to my property. A neighbor formally had a drive way on this property to his house. He recently started using this again, and started cutting the grass on this piece. What should I do? This property includes part of his lawn.

You need to inform him in writing, by registered mail that he is driving on your property and cutting grass on your property. If he has been using the driveway and grass area as if he owns this, for 15 years, then you may have lost the property due to adverse possession. Your predecessor in title may have forfeited the land if he failed to notify the neighbor that he was "over the line", for the statutory time period. You need a staked survey and an attorney, do not delay, the clock is running.
