Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Ok I have a very complicated situation. My Aunt Doris has a life estate to my grandparents house and property. She was given this for taking care of them until they passed. Now the deed is in my aunt and and fathers name with the life estate written on to deed. The thing is that both people (aunt and father) are both deceased. The aunt passing first than years later my father. On the deed it says as joint tenants with full rights of survivorship and not as tenants in common now no one ever filed her death certificate in this county but years later when my mother father passed my mother had to go to probate for all of their stuff. My mother and I had no knowable that the property was in my father's name so now my mother passes away this Jan 2014 my sister and I were left all moms estate. Last week my aunt asked me to sign of of the deed to the property so she could sign it over to another (her brother in law ) the deceased aunt on the deed, and he would fix up the house until she dies then he would receive the property., My mother and I had no knowledge the property was in father's name or we would have dealt with that at the time of his death. So I am wondering do my sister and I have any claim to this property my aunt also informed us that father had paid for all taxes until he died and that she never mentioned it to my mother because she knew my mother had no money. She also said she could sue us for all the money that she paid since dad died ,but than added of course I would never do that. I'm stumped as to whether we would be entitled thru my being my mother and father heirs. Please let me know if I needlessly help or not. I'm wondering if my aunt will just receive it for being to only 1left alive on the deed and for taking care of her parents.
