Re: how to get a cosigner off my deed

A cosigner on a loan would be obligated on the mortgage documents. Your aunt should confirm whether the brother is actually on the deed. If he is on the deed, then in order to get him off the deed, she would have to sue, or get his consent by having him sign a quit claim deed transferring title to the property from himself and herself to herself alone.

is he actually on the deed as co-owner on a recorded deed? If so, her only option is to sue him in Circuit Court in a quiet title action. Contact me at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss in detail. Tim Klisz
