Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

My dad had bought my son a truck. My dad has since passed away and the title is in my mom's name. My mom wants to sign it over to someone else, prior to it being in her name it was in my son's fathers name. We had heard if it hasn't been 30 days since the change we could object with the secretary of state. Is that correct?
