Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
Someone I used to date left his C-pap machine and a few other assorted items (some shirts, dvd's etc) in my apartment after a falling out. I've tried to get him to come pick up his stuff, especially his c-pap machine but he will not answer/return any calls. Occasionally he'll text and we'll set up a day/time for him to get it and he either comes up with some crazy excuse at the last minute or he just doesn't show up. I've had his stuff for over 2 months now. He also owes me $100 which he now refuses to pay after I threatened to sell his c-pap if he didn't come pick it up. How long do I have to hold onto his stuff when he is making no sincere effort to get it? Can I sell his c-pap to make back the money he owes me? I don't have his address to give it to him myself. I am sincerely trying to get his stuff back to him but he never makes himself available and basically just ignores me. I don't bombard him with phone calls or texts but about once a week I try to get ahold of him to set something up. Only a few times has he responded and "set up a time" to get it (even though each time he never did end up coming over to get it)
