Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Eviction Question

Two years ago my sister-in-law purchased a house and gave it to her mother as a gift. My wife and I came to stay with her mother and were asked by her to stay so we could help her with getting around to the doctors and other appointments. My sister-in-law now is attempting to evict my mother in law, and my family. She has been disrupting her mothers ability to have a peaceful existance in the home, but my mother in law does not wish to move again. There is no lease agreement in regards to the living arangement. Is this a legal eviction?

Re: Eviction Question

When you say "gave house as a gift," do you mean that the house was deeded to your mother or is she merely a tenant? If she owns the house by deed, she cannot be evicted. For more info, please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
