ex-wife wants to give house back to the bank.

My husband is still on the mortgage with his ex-wife. She is wanting to move out of michigan, and intends to ''give the house back to the bank''. Could we be forced into bankrupcy to pay the debt? I have a mortgage of my own in Tennessee and we cannot pay both.

Yes. This is a problem for many married couples getting divorced. Check the divorce judgment for the requirements as to the house. Sometimes there is a bankruptcy clause.
