Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I own a home that I am/was currently selling through land contract. The people whom were purchasing it from me appear to have left. By contract I have to give them 15 days written notice to make up all back payments before they are in violation of contract. My question is will a certified letter satisfy this clause or do I have to have them legally served?

The real answer is what is in the land contract. I would guess that if silent, a certified mail, return receipt requested letter would be sufficient. Suing them happens after they fail to pay. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz

If you want to evict them, you can only do that by a lawsuit. However, notice of defaults would be controlled by the contract. http://www.wolverinelaw.com
