Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I own a home in Michigan which I rent month to month. I recently served my primary tenant with a Notice to Quit to his name only. We don't have an actual contract between us, so there is no lease terms. Does the notice to quit cover everyone living in the house at the time or do I have to serve everyone with individual notice to quit?

I always add to my Notice to Quit: John Smith and All Other Occupants.

The same should be done on your Complaint if you have to evict him. So, when the court officer ultimately goes to the house to evict, the Judgment you prepare will also say "John Smith and All Other Occupants". At that point, the court officer doesn't care if someone comes to the door claiming to be the spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, child, etc., he can still do the eviction. Good luck.
