Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
my husband died and only his name is on the mortgage. Both of our names are on the deed to the home. Do I have to pay his mortgage. Can they take my home?

The mortgage is the lien, which is on the property securing the note, which I'm guessing he alone signed? The deed means you were joint tenants, but the mortgage is still in place and must be dealt with. I would be happy to discuss this with you in detail.
