joint ownership rights
when disputes arise between joint owners, can an outright sale of the property be forced by law, even if one owner wants to purchase the property.

Re: joint ownership rights
Hello,
Yes, there can be a court ordered sale, or in the alternative, a court-ordered division of the property if that is possible (e.g. acreage).
The concept is called "partition" and it is an action that is filed in a Michigan Circuit Court.
The procedures are sufficiently technical such that an attorney that specializes in real property issues would be highly recommended.
Good luck,
