Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Land Contract

I have a Land Contract (5yrs) that is due to term at the end of Nov03. I have tried to refinance and due to employment and bad credit I have had no luck thus far. I have asked for a one year extension on the contract and the seller refuses. I need to know what my rights are and if I need to seek legal help.

Thank you

Re: Land Contract

You have no legal right to an extension unless your agreement provides one. You should have a lawyer look at your agreement to determine if there are any provisions that you can take advantage of.

Re: Land Contract

Your right to a time extension is dependent on the contact language itself, which also impacts the rights of the seller, and which should be reviewed. Should you require further assistance, please contact me at www.lawgreg.com.
