land contract/home damage respnsiblity

I bought a home as is on land contract Jan. 1st. couldnt see the roof put new flooring in /reovated and a month later i have major water damage due to ice back-up and faulty roofing,. am I responsible for mold and damage if the problem was pre-existing and i was told the roof was a new roof when I bought it?

You were not necessarily lied to as the roof could have been new, but with poor workmanship by those who installed it. If you bought the home as is, you have a heavy burden prevailing. That being said, you can always turn to the seller and appeal to their sense of justice.
