Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

MI land contract

Bought a motel under a land contract. The seller died, who owns the motel now? It was bought from a mother and it is still in her name, but she passed away. Do the other heirs get a share in the motel or is it legally ours?

Re: MI land contract

this is a very interesting question. Hopefully when you purchased the property a deed was placed in escrow, otherwise probate of the sellers estate will be necessary. You own the same interest as you did before. Contact me to discuss this in detail at www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
