Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

My mortgage company is seeking to evict me from my home. A friend of mine owns rental properties and says that courts don't evict in December. My court date is nov 20. Will the day I need to be out of my home be dec 20? Is there an eviction stay in wayne county not to evict families in December so I could possibly stay until jan?

That is not true. It doesn't even make sense. Why would courts not evict people for an entire month of the year? It happens constantly.

You may be able to negotiate the date, but it's quite possible to be evicted in January. I recall an eviction on Christmas Eve years ago that made the news.
