Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

NonPayment

I have a tenant who has been renting my home since July and they have been late paying the rent every month so far. I sent out a notice for nonpayment or leave the premises within 7 days. I received payment on the 7 day but now I don't have my rent payment for October. I have sent out a late notice each time with mail delivery confirmation. I also received a bad check for the month of September and charged the tenant per contract agreement. At this point can I evict the tenant for nonpayment?

Re: NonPayment

If you have no received rent since september then yes, go ahead and begin the eviction process. I highly recommend consulting a local attorney to help you with this so you make sure everything is done correctly and that there isn't anything defective in the service of any of the required notices.
