Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Post-closing Fees and Responsibility

We sold a vacation home in March. We went to the bank for the 'closing' and signed the warranty deed and received a check for the whole amount without any adjustments for mortgage insurance, taxes, etc. Additionally, the buyer's title company also inadvertently cancelled the seller's title insurance we ordered. Now the new owners want that money and the title insurance. Are we obligated to pay these costs even though closing is completed?

Re: Post-closing Fees and Responsibility

Probably. Look to the purchase agreement to determine each party's contract rights. If you were supposed to pay these costs in the contract, then you might be held responsible for them.
