Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
Property Management is not responding to Phone or emails
I have a contract with a property management to find and place a tenant at my rental property in Michigan, since June 08 they were only able to find and place a tenant in Oct08, the tenant has not paid any rent and when followed up with the property management they came back stating they had not fully checked her back ground and verified credit report of the tenant and asked her to evict for falsifying on the application.
Tenant evicted the property in Jan09, but now the property management though have charged management fee for Oct, Nov, Dec 08 are not following up on collection of unpaid rent and are not sending me statement of charges for their fees and upgrades done to the house for filing my taxes.
How can I proceed in collection of unpaid rent and filing charges for not checking the background and credit of tenant placed and putting me in financial difficulty.
Thanks

You'll need to send this question to attorneys in Michigan, as the entire matter is a question of Michigan law. Good luck.

you would certainly have to hire local counsel on this. I would start with a letter and then move on to breach of contract litigation. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
