Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

proveing a clear title

Several years ago, my parents borrow money from my grandparents to pay off their mortgage on their home. At the time of this loan, my grandparents names were added to the deed. Now my grandparents and father have all past on and my Mom is having trouble proving that she has a free clear title to the home where do we start

Re: proveing a clear title

This will depend on the language of the deed. If it transferred with rights of survivorship, then the property would have gone from your grandparents to your father, and when your father passed, it would go from him to his heirs according to his will and if he had none, then according to the laws of intestate succession.

The chain of title needs to be cleared with appropriate deeds. Deeds from your grandparents to your father, then from your father to his heirs according to his will or the laws of intestate succession.
