Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
We purchased a manufactured home in July of 2010. At the time of sale, the seller filled out a disclosure that the home was free of defects or any other issues. However, we discovered recently that she had painted over a very large waterstain around one of the skylights and also learned that that water spot was from a leak that she never repaired. Instead, she chose to paint over it and then sold the home to us, giving us no idea that a problem existed. After close inspection, we noticed paint spray on the trim only around the spot where this waterstain shows, so clearly she painted over it.
My question is, can we pursue any action against her or the Realtor? We aren't sure if there is a difference between a regular house built on a foundation or a manufactured home. The repairs for the roof alone are over $200.00 and we haven't even started on the inside repairs, which have to be done because there is mold.
