Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

How to put spouse on MI home title

I bought my home in 2003 and then married in 2005. I asked my lender how I can get my wife on the title to the home, and the rep said I had to refinance. I find this hard to believe. What is the best (least expensive) way to do this? This is something I should do, right? Our home is in Michigan.

There is no need to refinance to place your wife's name on the deed. Contact an attorney and he can very quickly prepare a quit claim deed to add your spouse. Please feel free to view my site, www.SevickLaw.com, for this and other questions under my blog and newsletter section.
