Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I have two questions, first When my mother was alive we had my name out on the title for her condo in so that when she past away I would have the option of taking over hers payments and getting the condo. But I am not on her mortgage because of my credit. my quostion is can the condo association charge me for dues even though I never was an association member. And my second question is a process server taped the summons to my door for the above mentioned matter, is this a legal way to be served in michigan?

You may be assessed as owner of the property. Once owner, you are a member. If you have refused service of process, the attorney may file a motion to have you served by other means. Generally it is published and taped to the door. Please contact me to discuss in more detail 888-988-5297 or johntatone.com
