Quit Claim Deed

My sister quit claimed her house to me two years before she died. Her husband is claiming that the deed is a forgery. He is now attemping to sue me for the property. What are my legal rights.

The only right I can be sure that you have, and need to take advantage of soon, is your right to have competent legal representation. Hire a lawyer. There are too many unanswered questions in your posting to allow any more advice than that.

Your rights will vary depending on the facts and circumstances surrounding the transfer. Without more information, it is impossible to adivse you. However, you will certainly need to file an answer to the complaint if one is already been served upon you. If an answer is not filed within 21 days (if personally served) then your brother-in-law could possibly get a default judgment against you awarding him the relief he requested in the complaint.
