Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I recently purchased a house. The seller was required to make repairs to the furnace and main drain before FHA inspection and closing. Five days after moving in, the furnace stopped working and the main drain in the basement backed up. Is there any legal action I may take?

Yes. The seller appears to have violated your Purchase Agreement, so you can sue the Seller for breach of contract and collect whatever losses you have sustained. You may also be able to sue under the Seller's Disclosure Act. There obviously was some sort of disclosure or discovery on those items, but it is possible that the full extent of the problems were not properly disclosed to you.
