Get relase of mortgage/or quiet title

On 11-01-1999 I sent my check to my Mortgage Company for payment. They sent my check back saying my house was pay in full on check.. I call the co. and they said I would get my Release of Mortgage within 3to 6 months, even a year as it takes a long time ,depending on County. I called them approm. every 2 months, the person said to be patience. Then I found out they wnet bankrupt. I try to find the Mortgage Company for months, finally I went to County Bldg. and with my check recepit, they gave me A paper Title ( Affidavit of Matters Relating to Title to Real Property).MCLA 565.451a .Can you tell me or help me to get a Rlease of Mortgagt or a Quiet Title. If the mortgage company will not or cannot release the mortgage, you will need to quiet title through court proceedings, and you would be well advised to hire an attorney. Please contact me with any further questions.
