Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I am currently trying to rent out my condo. I had somebody sign a 1 year agreement, but now they are backing out 15 days before they were supposed to begin the lease. Now I only have 15 days to find somebody else! Is there anything that I can do legally to collect some money?

Yes- You presumably have a one year lease in place, which is being breached. You have a duty to minimize your losses by re-renting, but the original lesee is responsible for the rent until then, based on the exact terms of your lease. Visit kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz
