Can rental owners charge tenants different amounts for the same exact apartment, no matter how long a person has lived there?

This is in response to your email of September 9, 2001, which this office received on October 25, 2001.

Yes. If a person agrees to pay the amount stated in the lease, then the parties are bound by that. Landlords can charge difference amounts for similar apartments, unless this difference is based on a person�s race or religion.
