Re: sheriff's sale in michigan

You can file an emergency motion for an injunction to stop the sheriff's sale. Undoubtedly you do not know how to do this, but you may simply put it in writing on a piece of white paper with your case caption at the top and the words Emergency Motion to Stop Sheriff's Sale, and then indicate your argument. Sign and date the document and take it to the court clerk and tell her you want to file your motion. It will cost you $20.00. You will need to call the judge's office and get a hearing date for your emergency motion. This will be an opportunity for you to explain what is going on to the judge's secretary as she will be the one setting the date. You must tell her you need an emergency hearing.
