Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I signed into a lease for an apartment with my boyfriend at the the time. His Mom cosigned for us. We got evicted and never paid the balance. Creditors went after his Mom, but she filed for bankruptcy soon after. Now (4 years later), creditors are calling me for the debt. Am I responsible?

Also, the creditors say me and boyfriend's names are the only ones on the lease (this is not true, his Mom's was too) and they also have the name of the apartment complex wrong. The one they gave is owned by the same management company, but is not the one we lived in.

Am I responsible for the debt? If so, can I make him pay half? I no longer speak to him or his Mom.

Before you respond to the creditors, you need to take all of your documents to an attorney. An attorney can determine if you owe, how much you owe, and how much the Ex BF and Ex BF's mother must contribute, if anything.
