Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan
my stepfather died. His will leaves the house to myself and my two siblings. We have the deed, currently in his and my late mother's name, and we have the will. We have a buyer for the house. We need to know the quickest way to transfer ownership of the house to the buyer. It is in a rough neighborhood in Detroit and cannot be left empty. We are doing what we can to empty belongings as quickly as possible, but there is danger of a relative doing damage as well as others.
The buyer will pay cash, and has a family member who will move in right away. How do we proceed?
1 Answer from Attorneys
It will need a probate estate in Wayne County established right away. The Real Estate can then be sold from the Estate to the buyer using a title company saving realtor commissions. I can assist you on both ends as I have been doing probate and real estate transactions for over 15 years. Call me at (313)402-0853 or visit online at kliszlaw.com to get started. Tim Klisz
