The landlord is remodeling the apartment complex and has ordered me to pack up my belongings so work can proceed in my apartment. Can the landlord order me to do this and if so can he do it without compenstaion for my time and work to to pack and then unpack?

Re: Tennant rights during remodeling

That really depends and there are not enough facts in your note to say for sure. Is the landlord asking you to pack up and move out? If so, then the LL is breaching the terms of your lease and is responsible for paying for these damages. However, if the LL is only trying to service the apartment, they are within their rights to ask you to pack up / move things around so that they can work around them without damaging them. However, you may want to talk to an attorney if you think you are being unduly inconvenienced or taken advantage of in some way.
